What we’ve done

In the 2014-2015 Kiwanis year:

When it comes to service, our club has been very successful and had a wonderful, busy year. With a total of 22 members, we had an overall total of 229 reported service hours. These hours are just our club’s organized events. Events included:

  • Bell Ringing for Salvation Army
  • Clare House
  • Gingerbread House fundraiser
  • Festival of Trees tear-down for Baby Fold
  • Midwest Food Bank
  • Project Linus Blanket Making
  • Dodgeball for Autism
  • Polar Plunge for Special Olympics
  • Autism Garage Sale, Bowl for Kids Sake (BBBS)
  • Forget me Not Flowers handout (Alzheimer’s Association)
  • Special Olympics, Back2School Alliance.

Aside from that, some of our members have gone above and beyond totaling an additional 395 reported service hours doing other amazing things. Some of these activities include:

  • Circle K International (CKI)
  • Ecology Action Center
  • Canned food drive
  • Hot Chocolate fundraiser for Ronald McDonald
  • Brotherhood Tree
  • Red Cross blood donation
  • Volunteering at a hospital
  • Banquet for benefiting the Miracle League
  • Trivia night for Head Start
  • Mentoring
  • Children’s Home Aid
  • Humane Society
  • Autism McLean
  • Service trip to Africa
  • GreenTop Grocery
  • McLean Co Museum
  • Vacation Bible School
