Volunteering for Kite Fest 2016

  • More infoFor A Better Tomorrow (FBT) and United Way of McLean County kindly request that members of the Bloomington Normal Young Professionals Club consider serving as volunteers for Kite Fest 2016! Kite Fest is scheduled to be held Sunday, June 26 at Normal Community High School from 3-7 PM.This signature fundraising event aims to raise funds to support local and global causes and is expected to attract 1, 000+ individuals who will fly kites and participate in other fun activities like face painting, kite wars, kite flying lessons, and henna tattoos! Volunteers like you are needed to assist with event check in, staffing the activities listed above and more.

    To sign up, visit the Kite Fest ticketing page and click on the volunteer logo toward the bottom of the page. There are multiple ways to volunteer in shifts that range from 1-2 hours. Volunteers will be provided a t-shirt on the day of the event and free access to Kite Fest 2016.

  • What: Volunteering at Concessions with the Normal Cornbelters
  • When: Thursday, June 16th; Thursday, June 30th; Friday, July 8th. All dates start at 5:00 PM and should end at approximately 9:00 PM.
  • Where: The Corn Crib, 1000 W. Raab Road, Normal, IL.
  • More info: BNYP will be helping with concessions at three Normal Cornbelters games. Plan to meet at the top gate behind home plate. If you have a Kiwanis t-shirt, please be sure to wear it. Easter Seals Walk with Me: A Walk With Champions

What: Volunteering for Easter Seals Walk With Me: A Walk With Champions

When: Saturday, June 4th, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Where: Illinois State University Hancock Stadium

More Info: Easter Seals Walk with Me: A Walk with Champions is not your average fundraiser. It is a day for the community to join with Easter Seals in making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

Individual walkers and teams join hundreds of other passionate people in their communities for a day full of entertainment, fun and, of course, the signature walk! Since 2003, over 150,000 have participated in 500 Walk With Me events nationwide, generating over $30 million to support families at Easter Seals.

Bloomington Kiwanis Mother’s Day Flower Sale

Who: Bloomington Kiwanis with proceeds supporting Camp Limberlost

What:  The flowers are a wide selection of annuals in flats, pots and hanging pots. Large planted pots and lovely hanging baskets, as well. A popular feature of the Mother’s Day Flower Sale are the Master Gardeners, local experts to help advise shoppers and to share tips on how to plant pots, how to pick the right plant for light and soil conditions, and more. Potted and hanging plants, flats of annuals, vegetables and herbs provided by Wendell Niepagen Greenhouses

Where: The Shoppes at College Hills (between Yankee Candle and Ann Taylor Loft)
