Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. The name “Kiwanis” means “we trade” or “we share our talents.” It was coined from an American Indian expression, Nunc Kee-wanis.
What is a Kiwanian?
Kiwanians are volunteers changing the world through service to children and communities. Kiwanis members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged, and care for the sick.
What is a Young Professional’s Club?
Our club differs from the other local Kiwanis clubs in that we cater to those with a busy lifestyle by adopting a 3-2-1 philosophy: (3) hours of service a month; (2) hours of socialization a month; (1) hour meeting a month. Our members are generally younger than the average Kiwanis age (57), though there is no age limit on joining the club. Anyone looking to make a difference in the lives of children within the community are good candidates for our club.
